A little more about Two Shot

Two shot plastic injection molding produces two colour or two component injected molded parts by using separate thermoplastics in a singular process. This type of injection molding is highly efficient and allows for the production of highly complex components in large quantities at economical rates.

Standard Tool & Mold Inc. provides various types of two shot processes with experience across a wide range of tonnages. Our capabilities include two-shot processes such as in-line injections, rotary table injections, both horizontal and vertical two-shot and pick & place with 90 degree side barrel.

A Little More About Plastic Injection

Used across almost all industries and considered as the standard for mass-produced plastic parts, plastic injection allows for nearly endless possibilities when it comes to designing a component with plastic in mind.

We have manufactured a vast amount of injection molded parts across a wide-range of industries, with extensive experience in materials and metals used in the mold-making process as well as a deep understanding in resin use for our client’s specific needs.

A little more about Insert Molding

A process that is the same as injection molding, insert molding has the added benefit of combining multiple combinations of materials into a single component. This allows for components to have the added benefit of being reduced in size or weight, improving component reliability, and generally increasing a part’s strength while enhancing design flexibility properties.

Standard Tool & Mold Inc. has experience over-molding a variety of tools for different industries and commodity productions using this process. With the capabilities to also serve applications that require horizontal or vertical rotary insert molding, we have the capabilities to produce anything from a fastener to a structural metal piece.

A little more about Carbon Fiber

The finish and feel of carbon fiber is instantly recognizable as luxurious and high-end, however the process of tooling for the production of components created with carbon fiber or composite materials tends to be more intensive then that of traditional materials.

Standard Tool & Mold, however, has the capabilities to produce tooling used in the production of carbon fiber products. Our skilled staff and state-of-the-art machinery allow us to meet the needs of carbon fiber component production requirements.

A Little More About Polyurethane Foam

A new capability introduced to our roster by the request of a client, polyurethane foam molding is commonly used in many consumer products that require highly complex, light-weight or malleable properties.

Open to the challenge of learning this process, Standard Tool & Mold Inc. has since developed the experience and capabilities required to offer polyurethane foam solutions. We have created tools used in everything from gaskets and seals to sound dampening technologies.

A Little More About Counter Pressure

Used primarily as a surface enhancement technology for structural foam components, counterpressure techniques allow parts produced using standard injection or gas assist molding to undergo an alternative to a common and costly secondary process required to cover swirl or splays on structural foam parts.

As we offer both standard injection and gas assist molding, Standard Tool & Mold Inc. has ensured that we have the capabilities and technology required to conduct this process on parts or components in which no alternative can be used, effectively increasing your design choices and reducing your cost over traditional methods.
